UNSPOKEN

UNSPOKEN

A Poem by NeiL ArandA
"

As You Wish - the princess bride

"

I stand
before the Athenian Tribunal
where my accuser
is the supreme judge
My fleeting life
hangs in a balance
My hands are numb

to even grasp my pen
to write my last words .

I plead not for sympathy nor
vindication .

As she exact the most cruel
punishment ever inflicted to a man .
The most vile words ever spoken
to a damned soul .

I hang with bloody
nail pierced  hands
while the ravens pluck
and feast upon the windows
of my forsaken soul .
My flesh melt like candle wax
at the searing heat,  while my body
burn slowly at the stake .

After I breathe my last
and the fire had consumed
every trace of my being.
Gather not my ash .
Let the northern wind alone
carry my sulfuric dust
Blowing away every bitter memories
of the past .

So your heart could beat

once again ...

Author's Note

NeiL ArandA
Have you ever held someone special that even when that person erred and made a calculated mistake. You still and always hold that person close and dear to your heart. Even when they crucify you with their wrong choice of words. It's still bittersweet ...

Simply beautiful heart wrenching
but so Lovely and much beauty in these words
as well,

You do have a way with words and even in the
saddest parts of the poem there is beauty like
a Bleeding heart upon the cross I love it Beautifully penned.

I agree with what Jacob said here.

I like the analogy to the crucifixion in this poem...sacrificing to make another have a chance for a heartbeat to rise again.
purging the memories for the sake of a resurrection of love.

This will go into my favorites.

BRAVO amazing work here!
