CASE OF MISTAKEN ABILITY

CASE OF MISTAKEN ABILITY

A Poem by NeiL ArandA

If I ride the morning winds to the farthest oceans, even there Your hand will guide me, Your strength will support me. Psalms 139: 9

Lost in the labyrinth of twisting corridors

I push my way through herds of what if

and false evidence appearing real.

To reach professor Asperger’s new protégé.

Classrooms were riddled with aspiring newbies,

like Vincent, dreaming of Gattaca.

Quest by savant is such an arduous,

uncharted frontier.

Only selected few succeed.

We rendezvous to a discreet venue.

Where room is filled with lofty valids.

They cut through the cheese with Algernon,

no flowers this time.

Dropping the bomb on Charlie.

Battery of test were not promising.

Sorting through morass of opinions.

Setting kaleidoscopes of rift changing events.

Loss and beaten yet still confident.

For I saw the prospects in your face,

sparks in your dark pearly eyes.

Like a rare black diamond on the rough

deferred to be disclose at the appointed time.

I fumble my way through ambivalence.

Looking beyond

I grasp and held your delicate tiny hand

as you guide and lead me

where I came from, where my hope is

back to my faith, at His feet...

This is a very moving poem. The alliteration,as in the first line 'Lost in the labyrinth, is very effective. Good poem.

Thank you for reading fellow poet
Should Life be an adventure? Prepare then for the roadblocks and challenges, falls and disappointment before we realize that everything is a learning opportunity. It is a chance for our souls to prove their integrity and strength before a door is opened leading us to where He wants us to be.

Wow. I'm loving this poem and appreciating its message and depth every time I read it more and more. I know a guy who is an avid reader who has that condition but Neil, if you see him write, it is sooo beautiful and perfect as a hand writing. I always admired Helen Keller which she is from Alabama for the gift God gave her although she was blind. I read a true story about a guy who had an incident and almost died from head injury. But when he was saved he came to find out he can sculpt anything with perfection for one side of his brain took over which is the artistic one. He sold his sculptors and became wealthy. Thank you for sharing this wonderful and inspiring write...:)......................

Wow. So true and profound. You are welcome brother...:)..........................
I read your poem with ease Neil, it has a far different style to the one about the books and even the one about the weeds. It took me along a strange route and it may not have been the one you meant in your poem, but I enjoyed the walk, it brought back to me memories of school and collage and university. And finished in the end with the hand of God, than I saw you video of the little boy meeting the horse.

I think it will be one of those poems that we love to go back to and read again and again, and yet find new meaning in every read.

I don't think I should mess with it as I often do, looking for mistakes and lines that need tightening up. It looks a completed poem to me.

I don't usually like videos and photograph that accompany poems, I feel they should stand or fall on their own, we are, after all, into a written art form, yet you video after the poem meant a lot to me, maybe I can embrace new things after all.

I do think it is one of your best works, and maybe it is too deep for me, but in the re-reads it may unfold as you intended to to be.

I will say this:
It had a good beginning, a good middle and a good ending
It was original in thought and application
your vocabulary is excellent
It thrilled the reader
it made me think and dwell
I enjoyed without quite fully understanding why

Wow so Beautiful I don't have Asperger’s
but some one that lives next door to my mother and father in law
they have a grandson Collin with full blown Asperger’s and he is a precious
boy he is younger then my boy but my son understands him and can tolerate
him very well I can as well. my son is friends with him he is the only friend he has that can understand him I know God does but my son has learned from me as well. :) I have ADD my mother struggled with how I was treated and to keep
doctors from trying to put me on drugs and drug me up and they were wrong on what I had at first they had to test me to find out my mother Changed my Diet I still struggle with it
seems we all have a challenges in life and life is never easy that maybe way many looked at me differently.
my mother is a nurse and I am around many people and I have a huge heart for children
and even if one has a disability what ever it is I treat them just as normal but ADD is our family but I've learned
to live with it so much it isn't noticeable my husband sees it but he loves me.

Thank you for sharing this I was in tears I hate when
others mistreat someone because they're different and
they can't understand I know god gives me his eyes to love
them just as they are and I understand it's cruel world out there
and he is their helping the parents and the child I know he was always
protecting me.

It is one reason why I love being An Adult Scoutmaster leader
I am working with young boys and children make my heart melt
I wanted to do Daycare as my first Job when I was 18teen I loved children
so much but it was a different world for me so
I did business this was through high school.

And then I wanted to be a vet with animals
but the dandruff and long haired animals made me sneeze and wasn't crazy about the
operating part opening them up if they were sick or needed surgery animals and children
always have loved.

Thank you for stopping by my page
