NO NAMEA Poem by NeiL ArandAThe greatest cruelty is our casual blindness to the despair of othersNo Name
You’ve been here since the dawn of time Adam and Eve knew nothing about of your coming and going, yet you were foretold Ever since that ‘word’ was first uttered.
You’re the fifth horseman of the Apocalypse Riding on scarlet horse, dressed in purple robe In your forehead bears the numbers of thousands of hearts your hand laid claims.
Your spear and arrow proudly brandish Its sting was quick and swift Precisely aimed; pierces deep, Deep down into the hearts of men.
Such mortal wound sustained, takes forever to mend, let alone heal with time While thousands more bleed a slow death and drink the deadly potion of your lethal cocktail and you killed Romeo.
You soar high and beyond anyone’s reach You gave birth to poets and rise to songwriters In your wake lies but ruins of broken hearts, hopes and dreams.
Anything you touched surely dies and the ground was drenched with lonely tears Your iron clad grip changes everything and impossible to escape.
You’ve mocked the wise; turned them into fools You’re legendary and well known And yet you have no name You’re brutal, callous and have no soul.
You inflict the worst and mighty pain To love someone should be the greatest gain But of all the feelings that lay amiss Is to truly love someone and yet loved in vain.
In your realm you reign supreme There I heard your dreadful name And those who’d love and fail, lived As if they never there nor exist Such a terrible, cold and cruel place. If the Prince of the power of the air Should suffer such
fate He’d rather rot in hell and stays the same. Than to bear the unbearable pain and sorrow. For nothing is compared to such Anguish and despair. The utterly dismal feeling of your unspeakable shame; such as the "unrequited" love. And that’s your name …
