Yes, I think so too, the feelings we write about come right from the heart. I also agree with the quote, always found it a very good one. Liked it, Neil. :) Rudi

Heart is the center of human emotions as well as it represents his / her character as well.
Ah your infamous poem of the heart. You know already I adore this piece and so many others did too on hp ... Just brilliantly said, poetry does voice out our hearts in each word. Wonderful writing Neil ...

" Straight From The Heart " by Bryan Adams. They said " Never fall in love with a dreamer " but what if that dreamer's words is coming straight from his heart. Will we still take a chance on love ? Thanks sweet and lovely friend for dropping by ...xoxo :)
From what i learned in here, the intended meaning of the writer is not really important; what's more essential is how the reader could find meaning to it. It makes me think, if love is developed and strengthened by constant and effective communication, how could poetry be the universal language of the heart when the words written is subject to different interpretation. this little piece gave me something to ponder on.

Again I have so much to say but thank you for your passionate interest. The soul and heart are part of connecting to our Creator. When a person is joyful or even sorrowful. Its hard to express our emotions with just plain words. When we sing praises to our Creator. It lift our souls up. The soul through music and song is able to express fully and unrestrictively all its emotions and feeling. Gab I researched and studied why King David was called to be a man after God's heart . There are so many explanations but here is one key that may have something to do with the heart. Its David's written psalms. Expressing and pouring his heart out to God. For me he is the Father of Christian Poetry. He felt also like a sparrow alone on the rooftop. When King Saul was after his life and chased and hunted him like a wanted criminal. His most trusted men family were affected because of their support and allegiance to David and wanted to stone him to death. He ran to his enemy territory and pretended to be lunatic so they won't kill him to escape a certain death. He hid alone in a remote cave. He was in great distress and depress. Perhaps he connected deeply and intimately with God when he wrote and penned the Psalms. There was a very interesting commentary about his poetry. If Prozac have been discovered and available for King David then, we won't have Psalm to read now. I believe that God's heart were moved and touched by his poems and writings and most of it were under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. For some of the lines have some prophetic verses... You may have a different take Gab but that what was in my thoughts and mind when I pondered the language of the soul and heart. Thank you always for your interest..

I agree. Writers like us can fully express ourselves- our thoughts, our hearts, and even our souls, through our pens.
Nice poem...or shall I say quote? Keep writing, Neil. :)

How lovely this is....and how true. Poets, even when writing poetry about life and nature, are doing so from their hearts. A tribute to poetry and poets everywhere. Good work. Lydi**
