The Reflection

The Reflection

A Poem by TheLoneWriter

I see a lost puppy.
Roaming around
Searching for answers
To questions
That we're unsolved.

I see a dying flame
Loosing its fire
Because its held on so long
But now it has to let go.

I see an infant.
Clueless of its surroundings
Seeming to block out everything
That didn't satisfy them.

I see a broken record.
Torn and unusable
Unloved by anyone
Useless now
Having no control over itself.

I see a piece of foil.
Stretched thin,
Frail and fragile,
Seeming as if it were strong,
But can't stop a tear.

I see a tiger.
Proud and strong,
Able to run away,
From fear,
Because it knows,
It can't stop to face it.

I see a tissue.
Used past its purpose,
Thrown away,
Couldn't be used for anything else,
As if it was useless,

I see a deer.
Prancing through forests,
Believing in its own strength,
Never knowing its weakness,
Until its dead.

I see a girl.
A girl I recognize well,
Insecure but still standing,
On two feet,
I thought knew her,
But the reflection knows her better.

Wow! I actually read all of your poems before I typed all these comments! I love your style and I must agree that you wrote great free verses. It is very refreshing to read and I must say that you make great impressions! Your poems tells very dramatic stories that is understandable and relatable. I especially love this one, as well as your poems 'The boy' and 'Light'. You capture my heart. I truly felt your words. :)

Great job on another deep poem! The best part is that I'm reading other people's poetry, that isn't sing songy with excessive rhyming.
