The Maze

The Maze

A Poem by Mark Daniels

As I wander through this endless maze,
this endless maze that we all call life;
I took a turn,another turn and I saw another,
another person wandering through this maze,
this endless maze I call life.

I look at her and I see,
I see a thought, a hope, a dream,
I see something, someone I can't achieve,
can't achieve even in my wildest dream.

I looked at her,
and she looked at me and I knew what she sees: nothing.
So I turned around and walked away.
knowing I would see her again in this endless maze.

I retraced my steps, and eventually I saw a light,
the brightest light I've seen since I entered the maze,
I walked towards the light,
and I saw the end, the exit to the maze,
the endless maze you call life.
