Love From a DistanceA Poem by J.M. SantósI hate our alternating schedules. Late nights and early mornings Where every turn is a turn without a lovers face. No sweet french kisses, entwined with the mouth of morning and french roast coffee. Two lovers going about life at different times, different places - so many faces but each-others.. Face to face, time and again greeted with loneliness, every "I love you" whispered in public multiplies in decibels as if the existence of love were there simply to mock the fact that YOUR love was nowhere near you. Day in, day out - night fall... You fall blue; fall in bed just you and a full glass of red wine Heavy and ready to help you drown your sorrows To help accompany your needing tongue Numb it instead with bitter sweet grape since She isn't there to coat it with her love. You rest.. settle for knowing She'll visit you in your dreams Her kisses aren't too far away. © 2015 J.M. SantósFeatured Review
