I Support S'sA Poem by Emily ReeseA free verse poem, bordering on slam poetry, expressing the loneliness a person can feel when they constantly give every ounce of their soul to the world around them.
I support soft rains, sunsets, and sleepy Sunday mornings.
I support sparkles, smiles, and stars. I support systems, soothing sounds, and stretching. Speaking, Speaking freely Sleeping softly September nights and sunny Saturdays. I support sour candies, sweet kisses, strawberry vodka. I support the swords, the sky. I support saying sorry, sincerely. I support sketching until you're sobbing and I support sex, As a natural bodily function. I support my sister. I support the sinners. I support the saints, Smoke breaks, Silly little girls and sad little boys. I support sandals in snow, and the rings of Saturn and the hope that one day, somebody will support the supporter.
