The New Insanity WeepsA Poem by TheLastEclipsePart Two to "The Game"I can teach you a lesson soon, But first, I want you to put on your shoes. We should be careful when stepping out in the grass. The world is littered and your enemy can be glass. He or she can be transparent and stealthy, They will cut your veins and set your love flowing free. You will paint flowers, and fields, and trees, But you will have not enough to maintain your own sanity. So if you do not put on your shoes You know exactly what your enemies will do. So why do you have enemies? Because enemies see not clearly. So you lace up your shoes and come with me. I have things that need to be tended to, see, I am a bit older than I once was And now to do things, I make a fuss. Follow me, beneath the grand oak tree And together we will speak pleasantly, But you know, inside, that we will stay forever. How can we do such? “Never!” And you shove me away, realizing that the glass is a friend. He would not hurt you, but protect you (from me) until the end. So you take him in your fragile and soft hand. Oh, my darling, you are so soft spoken, But you cannot escape my voice, inside your head. You can either come with me or live your days dead. The thing is, you are not my enemy, though you pretend. You make things harder and I am what I am. I am insanity and I invite you to my game. I apologize for the trickery, but you think there is shame In being insanity, but it is only loss Now, get here and you shall become the boss… That is it, my pretty. Approach! Allow the mixing to encroach! It is alright, you can close your eyes. I promise you that you shall never die, Though you may wish to peacefully sleep, You can only do that when the new insanity weeps
