The Leech and Her Consequence

The Leech and Her Consequence

A Poem by TheLastEclipse

You can die or you can flee.
I don’t care how you do it, just get away from me.
Come up with the most creative and flashy escape,
Like the villain that disappears behind his cape.
I’m slowly breaking down, dissipating.
I don’t truly expect you to agree.
You never liked the words that could be seen.
To you, they are evidence,
Evidence of your choices and that fatal consequence.
Never can we find ourselves concentrating!
Tell me once more.
“Recall the time we met ashore?”
We watched the waves crash on the sandy beach
And it is then you latched on, my leech.
Once I die, you will too.
And you know what? If that’s what I have to do,
The only thing stopping me is you.
But now, that reason has sunken into the blue.
Your disregard is demonstrated as you are desecrating!
