Shanghai: My Friend

Shanghai: My Friend

A Poem by TheLastEclipse
"

A Shanghai special.

"
The boy is clueless.
They, the ones around, wonder why she would do that.
He lays on his back, mourning the loss of his heart,
The shattering of shards he'll never get back.
He tells himself that she cares
And when he asks, she cries, "You're being unfair!"

I guess I can relate.
She never said she loved him and never hid her hate.
What a ruse, leaving feelings so abused.
I'm afraid there is an end to the intimacy.

He can't clear his conscious!
He can't leave her lust!
He closes his eyes,
But she seduces by touch!

I'll take my beaten friend by hand.
I'll tell him of his tragedy's end.
I'll be there, being someone on which he can depend.
And I will be the ally- the friend.

Author's Note

TheLastEclipse
A shanghai special is a type of poem I do that can be about anything. You will see that often. They are all unrelated to the specific poem series I have written them among, almost like a commercial break for a certain poetry series.
