PrologueA Chapter by TheLastEclipse"You're not a rebel." She yelled as she gripped my arm, tearing at her star blue eyes again. "I'm not another piece of the puzzle either, so what am I exactly then?" I reply in a stricken tone. All replies were void but her emotional shuttering voice quivered. She let her body intwine with mine making what may have been our last embrace. I stood out and that was the largest sin of them all. I took her arm and held her tighter, this is was it and I was slowly sliding out of place. "It shouldn't end like this Lipen!" Her cries were soon interrupted by a slamming of a door and the opening of the next. The light discovered her eyes shimmering like glitter or all the stars above. I swear to you that all of the constellations could have been mapped in her eyes that day. This was it the final kiss ignited before they stowed me away. Bulky men heavily garbed and armored, pursuing me for years and now they had finally won. It all seemed on end without hope and to be the last night I would spent as a rogue. Thrown into the cell, I embraced the shadows that once hid me well. Now they turn their backs to me in betrayal of solitary confinement. True friends are nothing like shadows. The only true friends I had were either killed or escaped the New Juilo desert. Then there is Jade but she is no mere friend. Jade is my lover and my best friend. Never once had she and I experienced the gentle touch of friendship, we have always had that warm comfort of love. It burdened my soul heavy to leave her like this, but the life of a rogue is none to play around with. I knew my fate from the start and now it is yet to be confirmed. I can virtually feel my life inching away. The screams are endless. Nothing is ever silent. If all screaming is over, then moaning begins. If moaning ends then dripping water test my patience. This is the beginning of the trials of a rogue.
