Water

Water

A Poem by Blue Ivory

Water

I am the calm water

Trace me as I ebb and flow

I bring forth peace and tranquility

Refreshing everything I touch.

Delicate and flexible I may seem,

I am of mighty force

You may rest yourself on me afloat

But pulling you down

To the depths of the world

Will take much less than a tempest, my love

I am the calm water

But in this puddle only

Follow me and I shall

Take you into a whirlpool

And you shall be caught in my cycle

Spinning forever after

Pleasing me greatly!

Dip a toe into my vast world

And if you please, I’ll pull

I’ll reel you in with my currents

Bringing you effortlessly

Down to my sandy beds

Drink me in. Quench  your thirst.

You want me, don’t you?

Yessssssssssssss, let me explore your mouth...

Don’t worry, you’ll never run out of me.

I’m here to please your tongue

Whenever you want me to

Let me fill you from within!

And take over your entire body

Introduce me to your home

While I welcome you into mine

Your lungs are filling up with

My liquid lullaby

I see the life escaping your eyes

Once again, my kiss

Has proven to be deadly.

Refreshing! What a rush being engulfed in your thoughts.. I love the reiteration of words in the middle of the piece like a phantom wave followed by the boat turner. "Dip a toe into my vast world
And if you please, I’ll pull
I’ll reel you in with my currents
Bringing you effortlessly
Down to my sandy beds"

Then you real turn up the pressure cooker with this line right here!...
"Drink me in. Quench your thirst.
You want me, don’t you?
Yessssssssssssss, let me explore your mouth...
Don’t worry, you’ll never run out of me.
I’m here to please your tongue
Whenever you want me to"

Great write all around can wait to take another dip in your stream of conscience!

A coaxing to intense sensuality; The Siren is difficult to ignore--she makes herself felt.
Impressive work, young poetess!

Water is both beautiful and deadly. It stirs with a touch and kills with a kiss.

This is amazing.I love how you made water so deadly yet so beautiful in this poem. But I think that inspiration for this lies in our earlier conversation.Am I right? ;) Great job,again... and now I saw something different in our styles of writing. You always hide the real meaning of the poem, when there is me,always going straight on the sun with it.:)

The poem is amazing. I like the flow of your thoughts.
"Let me fill you from within!

Somethings can't be controlled. But celebrate the feeling and enjoy the ride. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
