PrideA Poem by Blue IvoryPRIDE You, little being Tiny dot, Dare reject me? You, who was once, I admit, My glorious sun Now, you have fallen Into the dirt
Who are you to say no to me?
I rose the heavens After you left What did I have When you were here? And now I dwell Upon the clouds I hover over mountain peaks Three years since I have met the ground
And one simple word meant my defeat
DEFEAT! That I spit on I shall never lose Especially not to you You lay with the lowest Your ship has sunk Bringing me down Shall not take you any higher Hurting me is fruitless
And yet it pains me so!
Those sharp words That you speak Pierce my heart Put me in agony When I’m alone They surround me And they haunt me I cry tears of low self esteem
But I must shield myself to not feel this pain.
I pull myself up Replace myself on the throne I was always right, and you wrong You shall be banished My pride, though dense, but fragile Who knows if we shall heal? For this, you will pay Pay the price heavily
You will bleed gallons, though I am dry...
In my eyes, you have committed A sin sinister of all You have dared to utter a word That was never used on me before And so with this, I will leave you to rot I hope you die So your spirit sees my rank
Now you will never make me fall again. © 2012 Blue IvoryFeatured Review
