A Letter to A Loved One

Somewhere along the road
You're gonna meet someone
Who will love you
And you're gonna take advantage of that.

You'll keep taking
And she'll keep giving
Until she reaches breaking point
And it will be too late to repay her.

Someday will come when you'll lose everything you love.
One by one, it will make you empty
Will the pain be worth it?
You won't know.

All you can do is drown
In your pool of self pity
Thinking you're right.
But the rest feel the same.

It all leads to the path
Of miscommunication
When tragedies are born
And it drives you insane

If you'll be patient
You'll find the fruit
Which won't be as sweet
As you would prefer it.

But isn't life just a test?
Yes and ones who don't fail
Are the ones who are blind
To all negativity

And the person who loves you
Will never stop wondering
If she gave up on you too quickly
Or if she passed

At giving you her unconditional love
Or was it time for her to stop?
Since she'd done so for years
And now she wanted crack.

Yes you'd given her nice gifts
And gave her a place to stay
But that wasn't enough for her
No. She wanted to be loved

But it just didn't want her back.
But she'll never stop regretting
And neither will you
Maybe that's why it's called

The circle of life.
Life...It can disappoint you
Try to prevent it
And it blows up in your face

Hence its cure remains unknown
This letter is being asked
It's not a question that's answered
I offered my piece

Now the turn is yours.
Craving some acceptance
Expecting your gratitude
Without you wanting something in return

Cuz like I said, I've given you everything
It's now my turn to be pampered.
If you have noting to give me
I won't be mad

I never felt you were up to it anyway
I'll just be worried about what's in store for me
Love sucks. It's true.
And so does life.

But why is it so hard for me
To reach conclusion of this letter?
Maybe because the wounds are fresh
So I don't know when or how they'll heal.

And I don't wanna act like they have.
Enough with that already!
Or maybe I just don't want
This to be the end.

This letter brings to full intensity the melancholy of individuals giving and taking at the deepest levels of the heart. It is sad and irreconcilable and loving all at the same time. Love between individuals is shared from individuals and always far from perfect. So as the last line says, if the loved one doesn't want it to end, than take the other in their crippled inadequate form and love them anyway. Love is a quilt not a perfectly woven blanket. Thank you for sending me a request so I wouldn't miss this. Your style reminds me so much of someone I hold so dear. It reminds me of her and how I don't want to disappoint her or loss touch with her.

This is very intense...at times I thought the letter might take a different turn. I sense anger and frustration like an open wound. I hope a conclusion will come. Thank you for sharing.

Letting the words out here... speaks measures... seems as you're reflecting this to a friend... the font was a bit hard to read... I only saw a line, you might want to change:

I offered my piece
I offered my peace...

Thanks for sharing...

Love sucks. It's true

it is. This sphere is overflowing with hypocrites. You give, but they just don't understand its value, and miss-use it to a point when its just ruptured so bad that this one sentence-love you- losses its effect.
But the ardour for your loved one reaches in such a great intensity that termination is just not an option anymore. So you decide- I can withstand all the stabs and aches,as long as the affection does'nt die.

In the end of the day-intimacy thrashes loathe.

Need dark ink for us old folks. Love is a two edge-sword. I tell people slow and easy done it. Know what you are getting into. A lot of smoke screens in a life. Need to know and understand someone. Love takes time and a lot of luck. I like the letter. When we are young. Many mistakes before we get it right. Thank you for sharing your thoughts in this poem. A excellent poem.

This is so deep and heartfelt. I feel the love and want to be and yet the despair of what isn't.. Something I can relate to all to well.. And still after it all..deep down inside we don't want it to be the end..xx
