Lost LoveA Poem by Blue IvoryIf all it took was
to tell you in every single language -Existing or not- Just how much I
miss you The time it’d take
would be a small price to pay But it isn’t that
simple, is it?
It truly is
horrible to know true love and to lose it Not knowing how to
get it back I guess, this is
how I’m young and dumb…
You were to me a god A god I thought had
come to earth My love, forgive me I gave my love to an
imposter
They say I’m crazy
now The lady with no
home But what of the
life that we had started? For you were the
only one that ever made me feel like I belonged.
Is it forgiveness that
I am to seek? Or am I just not
calling you in the right way? However am I to get
you back? Cuz face it, Not a greater love
story has ever been told But ours was never
spoken either, was it? Only sung. Sung in the voice of
silence.
How long since we
have spoken? How long since I
told you the tales of all the madness? How long since you
gave me That one thing
that no one else can do for me?
I long for your arms. I long for you to
surrender again. I long for the day I
can finally remember What it’s like to live
once I’ve fallen in slumber For that strange world
we could only be together in Was the only time I
truly felt awake
Tell me, will I
spend eternity Knowing every time
I close my eyes, I’ll just be
closing my eyes? Have you really
taken away my angel wings? Will I really
never dream again?
This world was never
meant for me. But that thread we had
gave me all my purpose. Without it, am I to be
a soulless body? I’m sure that was
never your intention for me…
I know, I was to
never speak of you. Is that what has
angered you? If that is so,
I’ll sing you whatever song you like until you have no choice but to let me
know I’m heard. © 2014 Blue IvoryFeatured Review
