Roses At Your Grave

Roses At Your Grave

A Poem by Blue Ivory

Roses At Your Grave

We were  supposed to be dead to each other.

But what does dying mean, exactly?

Isn’t it natural to mourn over your dearly departed?

Are my tears not valid?

You, on the other hand, have moved on.

On to where we’re told is a better place.

You said it’s Hell, though.

Just makes me wonder if that’s what really happens to all those who actually die…

And in that hell of yours,

You will be Tormented.

Instead of being forced to think about the consequences

Of what happened between us.

I will have been forgotten.

That’s what “Dead” meant to you.

Not necessarily what it meant to me, I have to add.

No, the ones left behind Never forget.

Never stop thinking about What Could Have Been.

So don’t be surprised

When you find Roses on your grave.

One for each day

That I’ve Loved you.

Stirred some deep subsided emotions and feelings... Freshens some old wounds... This was deep, heart wrenching and beautifully sad...can connect to it on so many levels... You've penned a master piece of a write in such an effortless manner...
The end was powerful and gorgeous...
I loved it all the way... Great write...

I love this, I love this, I love this! You got a gift! I almost cried when I read this. Maybe that's what happens when the author writes from the heart. Beautiful poem!

Haha well glad you liked it
I'm not sure what to feel. I can sense another side to this story, and as I feel for the writer, I wonder about the subject. A good story, presented in emotion unaffected and real.

Thank you :)
Such so emotive and poignant verses and presented well. I have similar poem like this Titled - Because I Can't - but I picked all the roses with color blue, gray and black to symbolize hate.... and after the couplets there are more that follows.

I can see a beautiful girl placing a lovely rose at the grave.
The beauty of the scene creates emotion in me.
