Chapter TwoA Chapter by Blue IvoryShe was awoken by the sound of immense shouting and thumping, coming from the door to her house. The bell had stopped working two months ago. She recognized the voice to belong to her uncle, Martin. Just as she'd thought, he was there to pay his contribution to her family. His money was what she and her mother depended on, ever since her father died when she was 12. It was just enough to keep them alive, but really, it was all that he could do for them. "How is she now?" he asked, as he handed her his coat. It was October, and beginning to get chilly outside. "I wouldn't know. I just woke up. When I checked up on her last night, she was sleeping. She looked very frail..." she remembered how she was barely moving, after she said that.
He handed her the money, and then followed her to her mother's bedroom. Julie had her eyes open. At the sound of them entering, she turned her head to face them. Thank God, she thought. Her mother looked miserable, though. She had no clue how to get her out of this hell hole. But she wanted to help.
"She's burning!" he said.
