Stranger

Stranger

A Poem by Blue Ivory

Stranger

Today, I read all the words
I once wrote about you.
It's amazing how hurt I was
How badly you had me broken...

It's almost as if
That girl in those pages
Was a stranger

Unbelievable how many times I cried,
I'd really thought you were the one, hadn't I?
Well, it was my mistake.
I am sorry, for any inconvenience.

There is a sad power to this. They say that every 7 years we are completely remade. Almost every cell in our body having changed or renewed completely. Could this mean that every 7 years we are reborn, the old us now dead? I've come across old letters and old pictures and have often wondered the same thing. Who was/ that stranger? A thought provoking, and moving piece. Happy that I came across it.

Bittersweet sass in this one, sometimes you want to tear out you heart just so it doesn't break again...killer last line Siren!

Looking back can help us perceive what it is we see when looking forward. Good things to know. Well done poem here. Enjoyed!

i like the last line. you realize that you weren't the one for the person, but you dragged it out as much as you could in case he might change his mind. now you feel bad you just didn't let him go when he wanted to walk away. great job.
