But You Left Anyway

But You Left Anyway

A Poem by Blue Ivory

How cruel would I be
If I held you back here, with me?

Every single one of you

If I  begged you not to leave

I said I'd be sad, yes
But to be on my knees
Would prove me pathetic

Maybe I just didn't want you enough
Yet, you're all I can think about
If only I'd done more to keep you here...
But would that be worth it?

Why is it hard for me to say I miss you?

One by one they all pack up their bags

Don't go
PLEASE don't go!

It doesn't matter if you're not mine
You'll be here
Breathing...Radiating
That's all I need to feel safe:
Your presence.

Most people write about heartache but its usually about a boyfriend or girlfriends. Heartache can come from friends and family too. I felt this and it was beautiful. Depressing? I think more so you miss them. if they leave its their prerogative. its never easy but the hurt will lessen even when you still miss them

The presence of someone can have more weight than gravity itself.

Breathing...Radiating
That's all I need to feel safe:
Your presence.

The ending was like a farewell to a physical apparition. But you feel his ghost. And that can be hard to cope with my dear. I hope the weight of him doesn't bring your "radiant self" down. I like seeing you around. xx Heart felt penning as always. Love your new profile btw...it's appropriate. Creative...dark and stunning like yourself.

Well I was down about him for a while I guess, but I've moved on now. Thank you!
When one leaves it sometimes reminds us of the masses that have come and gone.. You have shared this with us from your heart.. and it's a beautiful heart..xo Anyone would be lucky to call you friend for a moment or a lifetime..xo

your welcome (:
Even some loved ones are not meant to stay permanently in our lives... this thing called life gets in the way and complicated... but those who touch our lives will always be a part of it.

Ah, Siren, wait for the day when you ask yourself if you ever loved someone as much as you miss them. You describe it all well and I like your honesty and ability to express so much of yourself with courage and the readiness to undress your soul for us. An excellent work.
