Inverse Functions

Inverse Functions

A Poem by Blue Ivory

You know what makes
No sense to me?
Inverse functions.
It basically goes like this:

First, you get an equation
Saying y=somethingx
Then you go through
A LOT OF HELL
To make x the subject.
What happens after that?

X and Y interchange.

Why would we want
To do that?

After going through
SO MUCH TROUBLE
Making x the subject?

Let x have the limelight!

I bet, x just feels
Like a puppet.
Maybe the world was
Just sick of looking at y.
And it needed a twisted way
Of making us realize
That without y,
The world is nothing.

But why use x for its sick games?
Poor x...

Please find X....oh there it is over there. You seem to be writing about a power struggle between the sexes and the stages of a relationship that might occur. There has to be a balance between x & y, which has shifted a lot in recent times and speaking as an X, probably for the good. Sometimes its good being an X and sometimes not, this is a very thought provoking piece, but to think of us all just as X and Ys is a bit impersonal.

This is an inverse of the suckiest poem ever
And I love how you brought on philosophy to math

You know, this subject really beats most poems, cause who'd ever think of writing about the agony of doing math, especially functions
Your presentation was great,as usual.
You did a perfect job on this poem

Just wait until you encounter the inverse functions of the X and Y people in life. Then you'll understand. Until then, please continue to write delightful things like this!
