If I Told You

If I Told You

A Poem by Blue Ivory

If I told you my secret
Would you go running
Or would you wipe my tears
And tell me that I'm beautiful

If I told you about my worries
Would you think I'm crazy
Or say it's a miracle
I survived

If I admit I ran
When everybody needed me
Please be disappointed
Instead of hiding my flaws

I like to live in a parallel universe
Inside of my mind
Where we make sense

Tell me why you make me so happy
Is it that smile of yours?
Cuz it brightens my day

I could run up to you
But I won't
You're not mine to keep
And I'm not yours to save

Author's Note

Blue Ivory
I did in fact have mixed feeling writing this and I know it's full of flaws, but I still had to publish it. I didn't feel like fixing it first. It was incomplete. I just added the last stanza right now. So yeah it's choppy for that reason :/

Love means being honest with our loved ones even when it hurts, it also means excepting our flaws along with our good points. A very wise poem.

A sensible prose.

You are seeking approval of another..yet they are not for the taking. Quite the conundrum. Beautiful work.

The feelings have been expressed beautifully. Anyone could connect with those feelings of yours.

As a poem, it does need editing and stuff, but on a pure emotional level, i really connected with this. I know the feeling and reading this took me right back to that moment.
