A Dream of the Real

A Dream of the Real

A Poem by Kathryn Anne Earnest
"

This poem is actually quite old, I've finally been able to add my writing on here, so, here is one. Tell me what YOU think it means.

"

Reading dictionaries in your sleep,

Talking with paper,

Writing with your tongue,

Speaking in silver.

Follow the colors in your dreams,

Ignoring the voices,

Stepping into the coldness,

Losing your fingers.

Vanishing tongues in silent movements,

Seeing blindness,

Toxic habits never broken,

Fighting more battles.

Looking to skys in your desperate attempts,

In finding answers,

I sent your letters never written,

With words never stabbed.

Follow the notes in your thoughts,

Answering voices,

Running into the fire,

Losing your head.

You took the scissors from my hand,

And inserted in your throat,

Permanent mute,

Loved by an evil man.

Taste the water that fills thoughs lungs,

Slash thoughs veins within thoughs wrists,

And dream of better times that never took place,

Then sleep forever.
