Ghosts of Highway FifteenA Poem by TheJordBakerStarted in 2014, finished today.
If I don't close my eyes
I can see what I want to see, desired truths which in this moment are reality. I can see the outline of you held close to me. The outside eyes encircle as if to scare, to stop me along the path and take from me should they dare. They glow as heavy fireflies, I imagine only haunting and sadness there. So I carry on down the road, powerfully through the ghosts of highway fifteen. The path is smooth if I dream it so, eyes ebb should I dream them closed. I first wandered here long ago and finally I understand why. This is one dream whose end I see, years later it is complete; we find our Eden beyond the ghosts of highway fifteen. © 2019 TheJordBakerAuthor's Note
