This place I know,
shore and show
it was not hard
to make it grey.
Upwards we gaze
in awe and wonder,
waves hit piers
like whips of thunder
and above them
weight and shadow.
Around to look
there's more to see
but the moment is
only captured by me.
each moment of life...poets try to capture...poets understand that life is not black and white.
we reside in that grey area...we write in it and of it.

We certainly do, we see what's beyond and in between the black and white.

A tight freeverse that reminded me of being on the south coast in Brighton, England watching the storm and sea rage against the bones of the burnt out pier.

It's written about the pier here in Sunderland, my happy place.
Free verse which creates a snapshot of the inclement weather you are experiencing this morning. Much captured in a short write. We have a grey day on the river.
