The Return of the Rain

After weeks of sun I woke up this morning to heavy rain. I noted down some thoughts and made a little poem out of it.

The return of the rain
and I’ve got shivers again.
Time slows down
as it cleanses the ground
and I’ve got no plans
just the scars on the hands
of a working man.

Dark of the night
and the brown of my eyes
rebound the shine of the stars
into the early hours.
And I’ve got no spark
only composite art
in this tattered heart.

The faces from time
are like ghosts in my mind,
they flicker by

but their bodies blur.
They don't say a word.
And I'm going insane
as the rain returns.

I love the title: The Return of the Rain. "The faces from time are like ghosts in my mind."
Then you 'return' to your title with the last line: As the rain returns.! I say "Brilliant" my friend.

great lines...and the ending is superb..

i've got scars not sparks...life has worn me down...and the rain does not rejuvenate me...it just makes me soaked with memories....that the stars in my sky fell along time ago.
