Where Are You Now?

a simple poem (if you can call it that)- just some questions on my mind.

Ok, so you’re beautiful
but is your soul?
Where are you now?
What do you know?
What do you think about
when you’re alone?

Do you think of regret?
Do you think of me?
Does my smiling face
tarnish everything you see?
Do these thoughts keep
you away from your dreams?

Was it true what you said?
Or what I think you meant?
Do you still do the same things
or are they scarred in lament?
Do you still make visits to
all those places we went?

Where are you now?
Is it charming there?
Are there plenty of honest
and pristine hearts for you spare?
Will you still show up
when I go anywhere?

I’ve never seen you cry.
Is that something you can do?
Does it hurt to know
I never bothered over you?
Did you strain out a tear
when you heard it was true?

I hope it’s a comfort to you
to know that I realise
the true reasons for why
and what hurt were the lies.
Do you still have that
fear of maturing in your eyes?

Where are you now?
We don’t speak anymore.
So how could I possibly know
what you may or may not hurt for?
I just want you to know that
my heart is fully restored.
