When I Close My Eyes

I wrote this on the train home tonight, it's quite 'unpolished' as a result.

Time keeps passing; don’t let me make you late.
I always said one day you’d be a star.
Let me know you make it big and safe
and I’ll tell the world how wonderful you are.
Why, of everybody, did I choose you?
You are the constellation of dreams again.
These things we say all sound familiar too.
It may be that the way I’m breaking’s the same.
Words and whispered wounding, we hold on
but you’re crying and I don’t know why.
We won’t be apart for too long.
I’ll see you when I close my eyes.

I felt this way many times whilst flying across the country . . . I should've taken the train . . . at least on a train you don't have to deal with air pressure and turbulence and dropping out of the sky because the wings were all iced up . . .
