Lifeless clarity in his eyes reflects the first moon- jagged and worn. The second is the only light until the crucifix behind him ignites. An ironic effigy over his shoulder; God has long since walked these waters. The cross bears its mortal words and the swash runs red with its blood. © 2012 TheJordBaker |
