Wanting

Wanting

A Poem by Broken Spiral
"

A re-interpretation of Psalm 23 from a dystopian point of view.

"
The shepherd sleeps, and I am left wanting. He who laid me down in green pastures and led me beside still waters is gone; my soul wavers in his absence. The path of righteousness eludes me; my cries go unanswered.

As I stumble through the valley of the shadow of death, I am afraid, for I am alone; your rod and your staff no longer comfort me. In the presence of my enemies, I tremble; the anointing oil burns away and my cup is empty.

Surely anguish and sorrow will follow me all the days of my life, for I shall dwell in the house of man forever.

Alas, Amen and Alleluia;
All is well that ends.

About
I'm a budding novelist with a few ideas floating around. Not entirely sure how to work them out the way I want them just yet, but I try my best to flex my literary muscles daily. I'm always hungry for.. more..
