May I lay you out tonight?A Poem by Jazz Newport Greentee-hee I come from a family of romantics...
My Love, may I lay you out tonight?
May I uncover your deepest thoughts? May I speak the words you are afraid to speak? May I undress the layers of anger and conflict that bury your heart? May I undo the the intertwines of hurt and of hope that hold your soul together? May I love you like all others never loved you, tonight? My Love, never mind the words of hate that have befouled your name, Let me wash the scars of many blows from your delicate skin, My Love, let me. My Love, let me lay out on the bed of truth all the lies you've been told, May I burn them with the fire of my love? Let me into your world, my dear sweet love, Let me inside the real you. Please don't hide your face because you think you're ugly, Let me see the bruises, let me feel the scars that others put on you in your youth. My love, may I kiss away the tears that stream slowly from your eyes? My dearest Love, let me, I want to feel your pain all over, I want to feel your shame. I want to feel your burden. I need to feel your vicious, culminating hurt. I need to assure you of your worth. I want to clear your name. I want to love you all over, inside and out. I want to clear any doubt, Chase away any wavering in faith, Erase any feelings of no worth, Peel away any thing inflicting upon fright. Let's not put off till tomorrow what we ought to do today, Under the darkness of the light. I want to know the real you. May I lay you out tonight?
