No Spring Shall Ever Again... (2018)

A Poem by Matthew
"

This was written staring out at the snow upon my farm after the death of the two women who meant most to me in my life.

"

Somewhere, out there in a world adorned with shimmering, crystalline beauty kissed by a gentle sun, my heart lies buried, blackened and burned. The Spring will come again, I know, to caress the land and coax it back to verdant joys, awash with flowers and colors and playful peace. But within my soul I know that Death has defeated life, love has been stolen by the cruelties of a world relentless with pain, and that no Spring shall ever again bring life to my heart.
