The Blood Freezes

The Blood Freezes

A Poem by Matthew
"

Date Unknown.

"

The blood freezes

As icy breezes

Blast and blow,

Driving snow

Ever higher-

Like a fire,

Which devours

Even bowers

Hard and strong.

Oh, winter's day!

Muck and bray

With white mixes,

And landscape fixes

Under heavy sky

With gray on high,

Yet trees- trees bent low.
