Chapter Five

The hair alone was a sign that it was a typical Monday morning. Ozzy’s red hair was wavy and stuck out all in different directions. Flipping on her hair straightener she began her usual morning rituals. She dressed in a pair of tight jeans and large shirt zipping a hoodie over her torso. After her bathroom rituals and the exorcism of her wild hair she had grabbed an apple heading out the door with her school bag. Halfway through her yard she noticed Kai standing at the bus stop alone leaning against the light post. 

“Good morning Kai,” she said with a shy smile, “How was your weekend?” she asked.

“I uhm tried something I have never done before” he said leaning down for her to see him at her height. He had dyed the tips of his hair a dark red. “Oh wow that looks really cool,” she said with a smile. “Nothing else?” she asked seeing him shake his head. 

The bus stop seemed vacant, that and not a whole lot of people wanted their kids to go to school today, it was reported that there was suppose to be sleet. Ozzy rubbed her neck and blushed, “So I gotta ask you a question about something that happened”. Turning his head showing some interest he stood back upright against the post. “Yeah?”

“Well, I was wondering what you should do if someone kisses you and you aren’t sure you like them back, and it was unexpected, and yeah...” she said spitting her thoughts out into the air. Kai narrowed his eyes shoving his hands into his jacket pockets. “Well who kissed you?” he said waiting for a name. “Well his name is Jordan, he’s my partner in my science class. So I went over to his house yesterday to work on the project with him. He kissed me before he dropped me off at home.”

Kai closed his eyes letting out a disapproving sound, “That was stupid, you shouldn’t have done that.” She huffed staring up at him now angered, “What do you mean? I wasn’t going to let him into my s****y a*s house. Besides, everything went fine.” Pulling himself off the post Kai was now towering over her. 

“It was f*****g stupid because you barely know this guy and you are going over to his house.” 

“How do you know I don’t know him?” she said balling her hands up in defense.

“Because, then I would know him.”

The bus couldn’t have appeared at a better time, the wheels coming to a complete stop as the two climbed in saying not another word to each other the whole ride to school.

There was an unusual crowd at her usual table making all of her friends either scatter or move onto their classes early. Ozzy took this extra time to get some things done around the school. Reapply for free lunches, talk to counselor about getting help finding a job, and getting info on any after labs to work on missing assignments. Before the final bell went off Ozzy met up with Kendall for first hour Algebra class. “Do you think you could do your homework for a change?!” Kendall exclaimed as her and Ozzy exchanged test scores. “32% Are you kidding me this was easy!” Ken nagged. Ozzy tapped her fingers on the desk, “Look, I am certain that any job I get that requires math I can do on a calculator. I am no good at it on my own” Ozzy said trying to cool the flames. “I don’t know how you are passing, or yeah, teachers like you” Ken said putting her papers away. The class was chatting up a storm and messing with their phones since all there was to do was take a test and get grades back. 

“I didn’t get to see you this morning, who were those people at our table this morning?” Ozzy asked leaning back in her chair causing the whole desk to tilt as well. “I think it had something to do with auditions for the play. Since out table is next to the auditorium all the kids auditioning were waiting there at our table,” he friend answered pulling out her Nintendo DS. “Why don’t we get involved in school stuff like that...” Ozzy said leaning her head back. “F**k you im in band,” Ken answered now tuned into her Pokemon.

For a town with less than 5000 people the library was impressive. Ozzy enjoyed reading and found herself in the library anytime she had spare time in school. All outer walls held novels and autobiographys of all sorts, while the inner aisles shelved how to books and manga that her friends have raped over the years with their eyes.

Browsing her selection she felt a pair of hands over her eyes and she smiled, “Okay really you should have done this when I first walked in.” Turning around she saw Jordan standing there lowering his hands. “Well hey,” he said looking down at her with deep blue eyes, “Done what when you first walked in?” Ozzy shook her head, “Oh its nothing I thought you were someone else is all.” 

It took a few moments for it really to settle in, Oh yeah he kissed me. She blushed and rubbed her hands over the cover of her fictional novel. “Well what are you checking out?” he said going to look at what she had in her hand. “Oh I don’t know what its about, sometimes I like to surprised,” she said with a smile. He smirked stepping to her side a little, “Is that right?” he said. Turning quickly he planted a hard slap on her a*s enough to cause a sound to erupt through the aisle. What was loudler was the shriek she let out causing most of the people in the library to turn their heads. “Shhh you are suppose to be quiet in a library Oz,” he whispered hiding laughter. Her face was bright red as her hand went around to rub her cheek. “Why the f**k did you do that” she said narrowing her eyes at him.

“Can I help you?” Jordan said ignoring her. Behind her Kai had shown up, leaving all of his things at the table he was at. “What was that scream about?” Kai said looking down to Ozzy who still producing rose bushes on her cheeks and then to Jordan who acted calm, cool, and collected. 

“I don’t know I just got here” Jordan answered.

“You were in here before me” Kai retorted.

“Who are you her brother or something?”

“Or something...”

Ozzy put her hands up, “Its fine, nothing happened. Jordan just surprised me is all” she said trying to keep peace. “I have to go anyway, I will text you” Jordan said turning to take his leave. 

“So you are into blonds,” Kai said rolling his eyes, “And I just put red in my hair.” Ozzy gave him a embarrassed look that seemed to edge hopeless. “No I am not into blonds, I don’t even have a type. Besides, we aren’t going out or anything okay” she said trying to explain. 

“So he surprised you and ended up alerting the whole library?” he said and touched her blushing cheeks. “Got you blushing too. Kiss you again?” he said raising an eyebrow. Shaking her head she turned around giving him a small view of her butt, “Laid one right on me. I don’t know why I am surprised though, former football player, and guys do that sorta thing to girls all the time just to mess with them. ” Ozzy said trying to make it sound not so bad. Kai’s breath stopped short and he nodded, “Yeah I guess you’re right” he said looking to the large clock on the wall. The 5 minute bell had begun to ring. “Well I gotta go” he said patting the top of her head contemplating his next move. Quickly, he gave her a*s an aggressive spank on the opposite cheek before stepping away. Ozzy could only let out a soft whimper trying to keep quiet and turned her whole body watching him leave. “Why!?” she shouted. “Because it happens all the time,” he said walking away. 

Ozzy remained there for a few minutes even after everyone had left. Quickly checking out her book she headed to her class. It stung a little even through her jeans, the spank. What worried her more was how she liked it.
