Different Shades.

Different Shades.

A Poem by Sibling
"

...Because African POETS.

"
The grass is green
And so are the leaves
aloft the trees -
But they are different shades.

The ocean is blue
And so is the hue
Of the sky at high noon -
But they are different shades.

The beach sand is brown
And so is the fertile ground
Back home and around -
But they are different shades.

The road is black
And so are the people of the shack
And the squatter camp -
But they are different shades.

Black street dwellers
from the fertile ground
Stepping to the sky,
Handling leaves -

Just want to change
the grass they rake,
Into beach houses along the ocean
Where the black road turns brown -

Because of the beachsand.
But alas,these delusions
Are in different shades of grey,
In a world where we still see :

In BLACKKK-and-WHYte.
