Lost GenerationA Poem by SiblingRandom spokenword poem about sumchin
We are the Lost Generation,
I wonder why they can't find us, Or why they led us astray Then say : "the youth of today is so lost". What if,they are the ones Who failed to guide us? What if,in attempts to guard, They've disguised us - turned us into What they are...or were? But how can we be what we are, When we don't know what we are? We lose ourselves in the lives of selfish stars; Who could never help us reach the stars. So some of us are trapped - In a space where we don't let the Light Within us shine through - Existence in a black hole of reality, Don't let the gravity grind YOU down, Please Prove to the old that youth Is not wasted on the young. Let's unite and be one - Regardless of creed, culture, race or tongue. This is our time - we own it, But because we second guess ourselves There's only a minute chance we'll make the most of it. Why don't we control it? But how can we,when we can't even CONTROL US? "No,they can't control us, No,they can't control you. We can control each other. We can control each other" We lack self-control, As we live life on autopilot. Cruising along the wrong path, Taking it further, Making it harder to find us. So I suggest we find ourselves, Soon enough we'll find each other. Soon enough we'll guide each other - Because all we seem to do is blind each other. We can't progress if we keep lying to And about each other. If you reality is a lie, Then you're living as those who have died - What's the point to your life? What's the point to the Lost Generation If we end up as the Last Generation? © 2014 SiblingAuthor's Note
