A Trip To Tease Artistes.

A Trip To Tease Artistes.

A Poem by Sibling
"

Tongue-in-cheek light-heartedness about something... Maybe

"
Let's take a walk past Truism Street,
To the corner of cliche.
There, we shall find a cafe
Filled with artists and their muses
With rosy-red cheeks.

There will be poets speaking in rhyme,
Writing sonnets past their time -
About their wives in the context of goddesses
Descended from the sky
That is a sun-filled blue.

Then, we'll order coffee
And have morning muffins
Over deep discussions of historical significance
With the black poets
As we are Africans.

When we're done with them,
We'll visit the painter on drugs
Carving a bizarre abstraction
Through the canvas with his colorful knife -
Crying of his corrupted life.

We'll go to the corner
Where the tortured artists
Are hoarded - all antisocial,
Producing dark masterpieces
Detailing their dismay at society.

As we walk out,
The misunderstood insiders
Never understood why we came.
They write, draw, paint, imagine -
Nothing more but cliches.

We just wanted brunch.
