Thoughts on Love Poems

A Poem by Sibling

I hate love poems.

I know somewhere
Someone shares my view.
I hate the language poems use
To show smoke as morning dew
I wouldn't write a poem again
If 'love' was the only accepted subject.
Dejected - I'd stand alone
As a result of rejecting acceptance.
Having accepted rejection -
I'd end up wondering WHY...
Why live a lie living life like Love has died
When I know the Love in my heart is alive?
It is the life that I convey through art.
The running atoms of true art seek Love
Colliding with each other while others part.
The day they find it will be the day
A new substance shall be found
By an oxymoron holding an abstract noun.
I'm a moron who desires my torment...
I hate love poems but write poems about it.
I guess I love hating 'Love',

Love hates humanity.

"I love hating 'Love',"

...well, I "love" this line. Interesting take on the love poem. I've often thought on this topic, as I find myself writing "of love" and "about love", but I also find myself writing the antithesis of the traditional love poem. I think we all write of love in our own way, even if it's not the traditional sonnet or sappy love poem. Kudos to you for bringing this to the light.

See I love this poem, seemingly as I write about love almost every time I write. Your view is so similar to I'm sure many others. Although we all write of love in some way, shape, or form; my favorite "loves hatred for humanity is ripe. Wow #Dope

'I love hating 'Love', I'd much rather 'like' Probably because 'ITS (less) COMPLICATED' And Love's hatred for humanity is ripe. Okay. Have you considered CARING? I believe we 'love' too much and should 'care' more. Why? Listen to people. 'I love my - car, dress, dog, cat, purse, job, shoes, etc. But listen to them describe what and who they care about.
