Ageless

Ageless

A Poem by The Glassface

To peer into an abyss it to stare into adventure

Tiger's eyes the end goal

Sucking upon fiery kisses to ride the waves

Questions raise problems where the jigsaw is sharpest

Why bother with failure when you reach for the sky

Screaming to him for a sign when you know she doesn't care

Prayers met with an empty hollow wind, screeching fog

Despot of this barren sea

Tell me, wise one, how did you obtain the peak

This is my mountain, my home

My

Of course you're the natural, I was never around to see your prime

Time before time when sands become a scattered river

Baptizing all in it's flooded wake, where the torrential outcry sleeps

Ashes to ashes to cast stones with, fortune tells me a map

When I speak of the sacred fire, I am handed a spiced drink

Omniscient venom seethes in me

Empires crumble, even the walking dead balance the void

Terrible agony

The Wretched

I call him in my sleep to fight a worthy rival

We meet and there is nothing beyond him and he sees similar

Smashed my head, let the cries silence themselves within the ancient rhythm

Entreat me to your flight away from me, elsewhere in another time

Stories only last as long as the words are spoken

They too can die

How many others have tempted to topple fate such as I

When is there a path to El Dorado

How would I traverse the boundary, who got it correct?

Temples are the horizon and the seas of the skies are my home

Cry out, you heathens

You monsters

Give me the banshee wail
