A Walk

A Walk

A Poem by The Glassface

Get up buddy, gotta celebrate

The world stopped turning but it's not too late

Hesitate at your choice

It's your time and it's your voice

We don't stop because we never drop

Sideshow freak from a dead end stop

They don't sing for they lack the words

When they spread their wings, we'll mock the birds

Don't look down, just encompass yourself all around

While we still manage to think it's worth all this

Murder our lives and drive into the sound

Escape this life by burrowing underground

I've wandered the road

With the strangest doctor
He claims the cure is a shotgun shell

While we wandered around, he drifted to hell

Sifted the lines and found a monster

Tongues piercing hides with a cynical sneer

Leering to me, says “listen clear”

The world explodes and I'm alive

Left to pick the carcass of our life

Wake up to a yellow moon

Where the gentle women softly croon

Songs from the dead, awakening soon

Steer and sail from this nightmare

Dream on aloft

high canopy view

Where was the world?

Where were you?

When is the time when you'll finally sigh

Brace for impact when the sleeping dog lies
