Desperation Blues

Desperation Blues

A Poem by The Glassface

I Sit high in the saddle

I ride ten feet tall

Don’t you ever expect though

for me to give her a call

I got my reasons

Lord knows there’s a few

Why mean old woman

Give younger lad the blues

He try and be gentle

He’d yank down the stars

He’d outperform Moses

but he just can’t stop lovin’ them bars

She tell him there’s no other

She don’t tell him she’s unsatisfied

So he goes out drinkin’

Because he’ll never break down and cry

He got the desperation in him

He ain’t felt fine for days

He just wanted someone to talk to

That make him feel like he’s ok

So he opens another bottle

He shouts ”Nother round!”

He figure if nothin make him happy

At least his soul he can drown

She wait for him somewhere

If she don’t, then someone will

Don’t ya see nobody lonely

As long as I get my fill

A powerful poem sweet
A little experience and sadness
Alongside realisation
Lovely piece! xx
