Scatterbrained

Scatterbrained

A Poem by The Glassface

It's not as if you need to speak
So smug
With cheery eyes wide and your head held high
Who appointed you?
What bloodline do you share?

The crowd walked with a frenzy of black and maroon

Eyes in the back of the head expose lies
Waiting in the hidden rafters
Futures meant to be
Dreams that never came to pass

I'm scared, always and nagging
Can't help it, tried but to no avail
It's not death
No plan to meet with that soul survivor
It's never anything
I want to do
and going by that
I never will

Who decided to die?
Laws of nature
Laws were made to be broken
At least there are a few staples
Entropy is escape
Challenge on an open ground

Alone, conquering anything
I arise
Like a river
Flowing down a mountain
Ceasing for no impediment
Destination
Nowhere in particular
It's all to the lay of the land
