Gilazzzy

Gilazzzy

A Poem by The Glassface

They say there's a star that's brightest out there
They say that star isn't you.
You got the ways to groove past the line of fools
You've known it all along, it's true
So why did you let them tell you to shut up
Get out there lil' bird and sing your song...

You can't always have backup
Go ask any ol' boy out in blue
You're taking fire from every front
Storming in your mind, yea they're coming through

Accept donations if you can't handle it yourself
Take only what you need
It's best to make it out on your own
The broken lovers creed

Sorrow so lonely it wants some misery
She got a little breed
Just needs a daddy to watch em feed
So she can slip right out the back
slave the night for what she need

Rage spills out on the ocean
He breaks his head in the bay
Can't take these voices screamin', can't let them get away
He comin' ashore by daybreak
Tear it out her hide
She run all day, for all I care
Deaths only be by her side
for her, ghost

Nothing left but wings
feathers flutter, clutter, mutter
They droppin' out of time, paying little mind
Just doing nothing but the daily grind
Slick oil slacks with the dead earth mask
Wrangle in the power, set it all back
Store away a hole for a million years
Rake in the money, the souls and the tears.

Time's a river flowing it's ferried crew
Among a way to paradise, carrying the very few
Passing breeze sail to the emerald night
Fancy the men who never return
From the toils of the day, but they yearn
For the touch of the jasmine hand
