My Alter Ego is More Like Me Than Me

My Alter Ego is More Like Me Than Me

A Poem by Spilt Stardust
"

Sometimes I feel like my heart limits my soul. I wanna be someone both in and out. I can't because there's that little voice that says "that's wrong" but how do I know it's not the other way around?

"
Why do you have to be so difficult?
You follow your heart when you should listen to your mind
And you listen to your mind when your heart is right
You hold on to hopes with pieces of threads
I would cut them with scissors to see just how it ends
It's your life, not the whole world's
Why not roll up the papers and watch them uncurl
Take a turn, don't go ahead
Is what my alter ego said

My alter ego is more like me than me
I stay in this skin,
Where I'm not wanting to be
Shed my scales and keep my scars
To remind me of all the broken hearts
Opening my eyes
For the second time
Is when I restart
Here, there's
Bottled up tears
And buried up fears
I want
Spills and screams
Just let em out
Fill up on words
So there's no room for doubt
Time to cut myself
And turn inside out
Better yet,
Become the me in the mirror
Let all my worries now just disappear

The words I write have deeper meaning... so it may be a bit confusing.
