Entering the cycle of life

Jovial, playful, innocence
The definitions of youth.
When did this change?
Determined, isolated, growth
The very being of adolescence.
Why did this change?
Fond memories, establishment, connections
The roles expected from adulthood.
Have we really changed?
Wisdom, Incapability, Welcoming
The inevitablilty of the elderly.
Have we accepted this change?

I remember back about 15 years ago, I realized I was not fun anymore. I had always been very playful and happy and I became very boring and a miserable human being. we do not always have to succumb to those things because of adulthood.. and I wanted to feel myself again. I changed a lot of things about my situation and became that fun happy person I knew I was. now as I have gone through more adulthood I know to take a look at myself when I cannot remember what my laugh sounds like.. and figure out what needs to change in order to really enjoy life, and being alive rather than just existing. and I plan on doing this well into old age.. good reminder in this poem.. thank you.
