I'm Envious! But I'm Here!

I'm Envious! But I'm Here!

A Poem by The Elder

I'm envious of those of you

who can discuss your troubles.

Any time I'm less than cheerful

I seem to burst some one's bubble!

I hate to disappoint my "friends"

so I try to stay upbeat,

no matter how down or lonely

I feel, no matter how incomplete.

I always listen to anyone

who might have problems to share-

I always hold close their secrets

when souls to me they bare.

I always have advice to give'

don't know how good it might be,

but whether good or terrible,

at least it's always free.

we find ourselves a place apart
behind light words that tease and flout
but, oh, the agitated heart
'til someone find us really out

--Frost

We should always have out with the things that are bothering us . . . we shouldn't hide our troubles so far away. Sometimes it's good to listen, sometimes it's good to speak.

I love the Frost quote below. I think that this is a great piece, and it says a lot. I really love the honest truth that you put into your writing.

Yes, it certainly seems to be true that you will listen and give good advice. And you can't beat the price.

This sounds painfully familiar. "Don't let me be sad, I have to make sure everyone else is damn happy even at the expense of my own joy!" I share advice when asked, it is free, though one may not always like what I have to say. You perfectly tell the story of those of us who, for whatever reason, are forced to become what everyone else in their lives need to live, while all we do is simply survive.

Really nice. I think that a lot of people feel the same way you do, not wanting to share their problems. Your poem is simple and honest. I like that. I also liked the added touch of humor at the end. Your advice is always free. Ha! Thanks for sharing.

Something else in common dear friend. Great free advice I,d say. Funny how we don,t like to bother anyone else yet we,ll go out of our way to let them get things off their chest. Well at least we have a purpose in life and there,s nothing wrong with that. Thank you for sharing.

Wow.. this writing I can really relate to.. I don't like to trouble my friends with my problems and just feel wrong when I do try to speak to them.. I like making them happy.. I to share advice when asked for.. it's so nice to have this website as it gives a form of release with feedback with so many others that can relate! Great flow of emotions opening up about issues of opening up! It's usually people with big hearts that are like that.. they simply do not want to inconvenience or bring anybody down.. thank you for sharing!!! =)
