The Sea is Splitting

The Sea is Splitting

A Poem by TheDuraMater

The sea is splitting for the eyes of a school of fish
Divided in the minds but connected by the fist
Make way for the black and white
There is no wrong, it's drown or be right

Near the center of the wave stands the past you and me
Shaking hands with the wash ups thick with coral reef

Here's where I pick my side
Send a bubble, gasp for air
Try and guard your face

Here's where I pick my side
Oh, you know life's unfair
Each fate has his own place

Our once flimsy sand stands tall and firm

The sky is crashing on our backs as blood runs hot
Waiting for a sign that beckons us to stop
Like a parade of bulls, running against their trial
We don't make no sense out of a dirty riot
We exchange a rotten smile

Here's where you let me know
Where your head has always been
One more jab, no punches to throw
When your heart's weaker than your fin
