Touching the SkyA Poem by The Dudeman (Kenneth T)A poem I wrote in 8th grade. We had to write about a specific place, so I chose the place that nobody else has ever been before.I jump
And then I run Towards Her face But my legs are motionless. I sweat Though Her breath is cold. Her soft voice telling me stories That I cannot hear over the roaring wind. But I smile and wave anyway, Acknowledging Her face That I can see all around me. I slow to a walk, and now I can hear. Her story Is one of Her husband, The Earth, Who I walk towards now. She tells me of how he was born And how she was soon after. And that they love each other dearly But can never touch, For He is the Earth And She is the Sky. And then I say goodbye to Her And stand in front of the man, Her husband, Who is grinning. Because for once Someone was able to hear Her story, And not just His. When put together, They make The Story of Time. For once..... I turn away from him And look into The soft blue face Of His wife, Whom he can never touch. And I smile and wait For the day She would tell her story To me Again. © 2010 The Dudeman (Kenneth T)Author's Note
