You got me waiting

You got me waiting

A Poem by Diamond Dunbar

I’ve been waiting for your call.
I’ve been waiting for your text.
I’ve been waiting for when you’re going to take me out next.
I’ve been waiting to feel more than anxiety with you.
I’ve been waiting to share my space with you.
I’ve been waiting to share our every move.
I’ve been waiting to share the same air as you.
I’ve been waiting to see if you’ve been telling the truth.
I’ve been waiting for the sweet poetry you drip.
I’ve been waiting to kiss those soft pink lips.
I’ve been waiting, but don’t don’t leave me waiting for too long.
When you decide the wait is over, I’ll be long gone.
Now your left waiting for my return.
I’ve been here before, that’s why I wait in hopes this is the last tour of heartbreak I will endure.
Only to find out there’s more.
