Hopeless Romantic

Hopeless Romantic

A Poem by Diamond Dunbar

I don’t want to think, unless I’m thinking of you.
I don’t want to feel, unless I’m feeling you.
I don’t want to learn, unless I’m learning you.
I don’t want to kiss, unless I’m kissing you.
I don’t want to talk, unless I’m talking to you.
I don’t want to be, unless that means being with you.
I don’t want to live, unless I’m living with you.
More importantly I don’t want to love unless I’m loving you.
You’re perfectly imperfect, I admire that about you.
I’ll do more than yearn for you, I’ll earn you to.

Powerful emotions expressed here.
'I don' t want to live unless I'm living with you' that certainly gives the reader an indication of the strength of romantic feeling being expressed in your poem. Also the acceptance that no individual is perfect and loving them for their imperfections too. I like that. Also the acknowledgement that relationships need to be worked on. "I'll earn you". Yes, loving doesn't always come easy. It's very much a two way thing. Your title reflects very well, the content of what is in your heart.
